Let's Go Crazy

Unscripted NFL Power Rankings
2013 Week 4

You know what, it's fun to overreact. Not too much, but let's do it a little. So welcome to the Top 10 Chiefs, Dolphins, and Colts! So long 49ers, Falcons, and Texans! Is that kinda crazy? Probably. I certainly expect those latter teams to make a strong effort to re-enter the Top 10 (and the Ravens too), but for now, let's have some fun and let these young teams enjoy their moment in the spotlight.

Nipping at #10's heels: The 49ers, Falcons, Texans, Ravens.

10. Kansas City Chiefs
Last Week: --
Top Rating: 10th (Week 4)

9. Cincinnati Bengals
Last Week: 10th
Top Rating: 9th (Week 1, 4)

8. Miami Dolphins
Last Week: --
Top Rating: 8th (Week 4)

7. Indianapolis Colts
Last Week: --
Top Rating: 7th (Week 4)

6. Green Bay Packers
Last Week: 4th
Top Rating: 4th (Week 3)

5. New England Patriots
Last Week: 7th
Top Rating: 1st (Pre-Free Agency)

Welcome back to the Top 5 Patriots. You're 3-0 and it's been ugly, but I can see you improving. The win over the Buccaneers showed Tom Brady is starting to develop more trust with his rookie receivers. Plus, the defense has shown it's more than capable of making plays. And perhaps most importantly, in two weeks the Patriots should have back both Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola. The Pats have a tough few games ahead, but they're only going to get better.

4. Chicago Bears
Last Week: 9th
Top Rating: 4th (Week 4)

The Bears' defense is dominant, forcing turnovers left and right (55 takeaways since 2012) and even scoring. It's tough to beat a team if they keep taking the football away from you. Add that to the facts Jay Cutler not only seems to have matured as a QB but is also surrounded by more weapons than he has been in the past and you've got a playoff quality team.

3. New Orleans Saints
Last Week: 8th
Top Rating: 3rd (Week 4)

The Saints need to improve their run game, but with coach Sean Payton back, this team is looking very strong. Even their defense looks more energized under new defensive coordinator, Rob Ryan. With the Falcons struggling, the Saints might just get a division title.

2. Denver Broncos
Last Week: 2nd
Top Rating: 2nd (Week 2, 3, 4)

What more can be said? This is a powerhouse football team. I only wish they played the Seahawks in the regular season so we could finally know which team is the best before a potential (and overly-predicted) Superbowl match-up.

1. Seattle Seahawks
Last Week: 1st
Top Rating: 1st (Week 1, 3, 4)
